My passion for motorsport stems from watching my dad, Fred Goddard working on cars at his Silverstone workshop, or at the tracks managing his team.

This has led me over several years to focus on the engine drawings that you see here. A homage to the beating heart at the centre of motorsport.

Drawing with its immediacy and flexibility has always been central to my art practice. I use traditional drawing techniques that have been refined for centuries. No computers, projections or tracing are used.

Each hand made mark is thought through and informs the next mark in a continual process of refinement towards a completed drawing.
