My current work exhibited here stems from my enjoyment of motor racing and appreciation for those engineers out there.

The medium that I currently use is charcoal on paper, creating images of engines. Quite a dichotomy here for someone who is also passionate about the environment and sustainability for future generations. What I think I may be trying to do, is increase dialogue around carbon. Do we invest in electric engines, biofuels or hydrogen engines? How do we reduce or offset our carbon usage? What are the pros and cons of each of these or do we just do everything?

As seen from the animations, my drawings have an excavational quality. One decision informs the next, towards a finished piece. Never easy, or relaxing as the production of art is perceived, but so rewarding when you get it right in the end.

Let’s hope we can do the same with our future technologies.
